INSIDE STORY
This weekend I’ve just attended the Pure London fashion trade show with Fever London… It’s hard work and physically draining but its also great fun. I love meeting all the buyers and its wonderful to finally put faces to names and voices. Every major fashion brand show off their new collections and its a chance to catch up with friends… so here are my three days by the hour…!
SATURDAY. I need to model my Fever outfits for the weekend. Wearing either SS15 or AW15. I especially love the SS15 wide leg palazzo pant in black. This shape is a great power dressing tool so I match them with a bright Emerald shirt available for AW15 to match and equally stand out. I finish the look with a Black and White stripe jacket which sits high on the back and looks fabulous belted. The pants and jacket are available from Fever London for SS15. The pink jersey top is a causal but smart option for the third and final day and I decide on a turban for day two.
SUNDAY. Show opens for 9.30am and as I live in North East London I have to wake very early to catch a bus, three tubes and another short bus ride in. Sunday’s are always the busiest and I have a team of 6 including myself on the stand to take the days orders. It’s time to pull our sleeves up and start selling!
This is Nao with a customer.
Lunch will consist of a quick sarnie off the stand before we eye someone we know and before you know it the morning turns to afternoon and 6pm drinks are just a few moments away.
Olympia is a listed building and looks so grand once your inside. I’m always fascinated by the beautiful ornate iron work overhead and how much bigger it appears once your inside.
Mannequins showing some SS15 FEVER BEST SELLERS. Bonsai Dress and Tiger Lily trouser.
SS15 Biscayne and Lottie prom dresses.
SUNDAY EVENING. Drinks o’clock. All the exibitors meet in the close-by Pizza Express for a few scoops. My feet are killing but it’s great to get the first day done and some orders completed. The sales agents get together for a classic selfie.
This is me with the Fever’s Scottish sales agent Karen on the right with friend.
This is a uni best friend Erin who also works for the brand Emily and Fin, also with the Fever South West sales agent Damon. Green is the way forward.
MONDAY. Into the second day and we are really feeing the strain of standing on your feet the whole of Sunday. It’s going to be another busy day and thankfully Fever is popular so I don’t have time to stop and think. I’m busy chatting and taking more orders until it winds down around 5pm.
I capture another selfie with Nao and Natalja.
I get a quiet moment to pick out a few of Fever ‘s SS15 pieces that I have my eye on this season. I’m really into separates at the moment and I think these printed tops are gorgeous.
Livorno Bomber jacket in neon tweed orange… Yes please!!
Fever SS15 Vesuvius Top. The print is the right amount of hippy
Fever SS15 Cloud Top, perfect for breezy summer days.
TUESDAY. Its the last and final day today of trade and I ache all over. My feet have given up, my legs feel tight and my eyes are puffy. It’s been another successful show and yet again I’ve met some fabulous people and seen some beautiful clothing.
The third day calms right down and the pace is a lot slower, I am usually able to go have a wonder around the other stands and say hello to the friends dotted about the hall. I always manage to take a photo from the balcony as Fever sits strongly at the front of the show.
You really get a scale of how large this show is…
With a hall this big full of fashion, shoes and accessories boy am I a lucky girl!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. Please feel free to leave a comment.
